Construction Manager - Build: Job Details
The Role
A vacancy has arisen for a Construction Manager within a West Midlands based main contractor. The Construction Manager will be accountable for the delivery of multiple small to medium projects through site teams, and will act as a focal point for the client.
Key Accountabilities Include:
*Developing with the site team a detailed action plan for creating and delivering a zero incident Health & Safety Culture, considering the wider effect on the environment.
*Acting as a mentor and coach for site teams, developing individuals' knowledge of processes.
*Ensuring that adequate resources are made available to ensure successful delivery of the projects under their control.
*Providing cost effective solutions for the construction of works, controlling project, business and profit plans.
*Ensuring that suppliers and contractors are robustly managed and inspiring team members to achieve business goals.
*Contributing to strategy development strategy in the bid phase for project delivery and where appropriate lead specific bids.
Skills and Capabilities
This role requires:
*Experience of completing sections and projects on time, on budget, safely and to desired quality.
*The ability to ensure all staff / subcontractors comply with Health & Safety procedures.
*The ability to resource, develop and lead a team.
*Good interpersonal skills including, communication and team building.
*Good building technology skills.
*Ability to use Asta Team Plan and assess the capability of programmes.
*Commercially astute, with the ability to scrutinise and challenge the teams at the monthly CVR/CR meetings.
*MCIOB (desirable)
